Getting Started with BotWash

Learn the basics and start transforming your text in minutes. BotWash helps you transform AI-generated text into natural, human-sounding writing.

What is BotWash?

BotWash is a text transformation platform that uses community-created formulas to make AI-generated text sound more natural and human-like. Think of it as a car wash for your AI text:

• Formulas are like wash programs - each one applies a series of transformations
• Operations are like soap and polish - individual cleaning steps

Quick Start

1. Create an account

   Sign up to start using BotWash. You can sign in with your email and password, or use Google OAuth for quick access.

2. Choose a formula

   Browse our Formula Hub to find a formula that matches your needs. Each formula shows what transformations it applies and how many operations it includes.

3. Transform your text

   Paste your text, select a formula, and click Transform. You will see a before/after comparison with detailed diffs showing exactly what changed.

4. Review the results

   Check the output and the Detailer's Report to see what changed and why. You can toggle individual operations on/off to fine-tune the results.

Core Concepts

Formulas

Formulas are recipes for text transformation. Each formula contains a series of operations that run in order. You can:

• Use public formulas created by the community
• Create your own private formulas
• Remix existing formulas to customize them
• Publish formulas for others to use

Operations

Operations are individual transformation steps. BotWash includes 100+ operations organized into 11 categories:

• Structure & Flow - Sentence structure, paragraph breaks, lists
• Tone & Style - Adjust formality, add empathy, remove marketing speak
• Clarity & Simplicity - Remove jargon, reduce redundancy, simplify language
• Find & Replace - Pattern matching, emoji handling, special characters
• Polish & Correctness - Grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization
• Numbers & Data - Format numbers, currencies, dates, units
• Format & Markup - Handle markdown, HTML, code blocks
• Removal & Redaction - Filter profanity, redact PII, strip metadata, clean URLs
• SEO & Web - Optimize for search, meta descriptions, keywords
• Accessibility - Alt text, readability, screen reader optimization
• Content Transform - Summarize, expand, translate, rewrite

Runs

Each time you transform text, you create a run. Runs track:

• Formula and version used
• Execution time and status
• Metrics (word count, reading level, etc.)
• Timestamp and metadata
